David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

This state of the art cancer center includes 16 private bed infusion units in the new Koch Center for Cancer Care for Memorial Sloane Kettering. From inception to execution, collaboratively working with Perkins Eastman and MSK , the team designed and developed the entire 15,000 sqft floor of cancer care. Unique spaces for staff as well as patients and caregivers were carved out for moments of both privacy and repose. Communal areas were designed for family gatherings, holiday celebrations and planning becoming inclusive and comforting in the complex negotiations of cancer care. Ultimately the sinuous hallways created a softer environment for daily movement; a step away from the harshness of medical facilities that feel more clinical than comforting.
